This wine is known by the name "L'Orocolato" which translates to "Flowing Gold" like the golden lava flowing from Mt. Etna volcano on the island of Sicily.

Chardonnay has a long history in Italy and was re-introduced by the French in the 16th century to support their regional wine production. Over the centuries, the grape has developed its own distinct characteristics in the rich volcanic soil of Sicily. Today, it is Italy's 4th most widely planted white wine grape.
