Winemaker Notes:
A Traditional Old World Style Classic White Wine
An 18th Century easy drinking favorite from the Royal vineyards of Barco Reale
From the wine region in Tuscany called Barco Reale or known as the royal vineyards of the Medici Family in Carmignano, a short distance outside the city of Florence, il Poggiale began producing this incredible and classic white wine in the 18th Century.
Barco Reale is the location that the Grand Duke of Tuscany, in 1776, denoted as DOC vineyards. This traditional white wine is an excellent example of the quality from Tuscany and features the #1 white grape of Tuscany; Trebbiano di Toscano. From estate grown and hand selected grapes, the wine is made of 85% Trebbiano di Toscano and 15% Malvasia del Chianti Bianca, and this wine is aged for 12 months; 9 months in French Oak Barrels and 3 months in Bottle.
At sight the wine is a subtle straw yellow color with slight golden reflections, clear and transparent, and vivacious in its hues.
A delicate aroma, smooth, fresh and fruity, with hints of peach, white melon, and citrus persists on the nose.
The flavor is consistent with the bouquet, with sharp tangy notes, bright citrus fruits and well-balanced hints of minerals are welcome in this incredibly refreshing white wine, which lead to a smooth, crisp, clean pleasant finish.
This wine pairs especially well with any fish cuisine, roasted white meats, light pasta dishes, or solo by the glass on any occasion. This traditional and classic style white wine is an easy drinking favorite in Tuscany and the surrounding regions.
