Wine Notes:

A traditional style northern Italian classic made with Italy's #2 most popular and important grape; Garganega, which is based on total production and yield.

This beautiful white wine represents centuries of history and was popularized by Romeo and Juliet, and is known as The Wine of Youth and Love.

A true classic of northern Italy from one of the foremost wine producing regions for quality and the farming of Garganega; Italy's #2 grape, and production of Soave, in Veneto. Cantina Riondo is located in the municipalities of Soave and Monteforte d'Alpone, where exists the original and ancient areas of production of Soave, known in Italy as the Historic Area; the winery is located in the heart of the region. The origin of its attractive name is built in historic legend. The first reference, attributes the name to the great Italian poet of the 13th century, Dante Alighieri, author of the Divine Comedy. The second has Romeo tasting the wine after a tryst with Juliet. "Soave" he proclaims to the servant who brought him the goblet...but he could have been speaking about one of Juliet's kisses.

Winemaker Notes:

Having wonderful character and structure, the wine displays a brilliant straw color with golden reflections. On the nose it explodes with a pleasant bouquet of white fruits that are wide and full, with attractive almond aromas; which are characteristic of Soave and Garganega. On the palate the delicious flavors are consistent with the nose, crisp and fresh, merged with accents of minerals and a lingering note of almonds that add a wonderful dimension in this very fine white wine.

This wine may be enjoyed for 2 to 3 years from release during which time it will retain all its fruit charcteristics.

Pairing:

Perfect by the glass or with fresh fruit and soft cheeses, grilled fish, boiled or steamed shellfish, roasted or grilled poultry, and light or creamy pasta dishes.
