Winemaker Notes:
The Southern Italian cousin of Sangiovese with bold characteristics
An Excellent Southern Italian Red Wine with exceptional body and taste
From the renowned wine region of Salento on the peninsula of Puglia and adjacent to the Bay of Taranto comes this amazing red wine that has been relatively unknown until now.

Puglia, stretches over 220 miles to Italy´s heel–tip, and this wine hails from the regions center of attention and renowned southern Italian wine producing region of Salento; and is part of an assortment of wines that have been researched and developed over many, many years to accentuate the intrinsic value of the Puglia region, where Negroamaro is the undisputed jewel of the collection.

This wine is made of 100% Negroamaro di Salento and is aged for 12 months; 6 months in French Oak Barriques. At sight this wine is a compact deep ruby red color tending towards dark purple. The nose is wide and persistent with the austerity of Negroamaro; with a bold floral bouquet that has peppery notes and cocoa accents. On the palate this wine is smooth and well balanced while having a potent and aggressive, yet soft and fruity taste, with a long, pleasant, and structured finish. A wine that gets and better with age! It´s almost impossible to incorrectly pair this wine with anything. It reaches its best with traditional – home style cooking.

Great for second dishes of meats and savory fish, perfect with mushrooms and aromatic roasted beef.
