Wine Notes:
This traditional style white wine is a favorite of Abruzzo and comes from the region that is home to the Lasorda Families Italian Heritage.
The Trebbiano production zone is extremely vast and takes in practically the whole of the region of Abruzzo. The wine itself is made from the "flower must" of the variety of the same name.
The Trebbiano variety is also known as Bombino Bianco. Its cluster is of average size, pyramidal in form and winged. Since the cluster supposedly resembles a baby (bambino) with its arms outstretched, the variety was given the name Bambino, which became Bombino. While Trebbiano enjoyed little success with the refined connoisseurs of the imperial capital, it was highly popular with the army, so much so, that it was known as in Italy as "the soldiers wine".
Winemaker Notes:
At sight this wine is a subtle straw yellow color, transparent, and vivacious. On the nose a delicate aroma persists, smooth, fresh, and fruity, with floral notes. On the palate the flavor is consistent with the bouquet, with sharp tangy notes, slight mineral tones, and a smooth, clean, and pleasant finish.
This wine may be enjoyed for 2 to 3 years from release during which time it will retain all its fruit characteristics.
Pairing:
A wine that reaches its best when served with fresh fish, shellfish, risotto, and will always enhance the flavors of any cuisine of the sea.
