Winemaker Notes:
An Italian Red Wine of Nobility, Regal Status and Royalty
One of the most Prestigious DOCG wines in all of Italy
This amazing wine is considered and rated one of the most prestigious of all DOCG wines, and is an excellent example of the old world, traditional quality from Tuscany. Made of 90% Prugnolo Gentile and 10% Canaiolo, and by law is aged for 5 years. This wine is Aged 3 years in stainless steel, 2 years in French Oak Barriques (size: 250ltr) and 2 months in bottle for refinement. The wine is conspicuous for its ruby redness with orange reflexes and for an embracing bouquet with traces of plum, raspberry, violets, and a hint of chocolate.
The flavor is slightly dry and tannic, yet full bodied with a wide and delicious finish and is at its best after five to ten years of aging. Pairs exceptionally well with roasted meats, hearty pasta dishes, and barbeque.
